Minutes from the Committee meeting held at Rose Cottage on the 26 August, 2009 YAAD reportWillows Diana reports that all are doing very well. They have started having a practical lesson each 2nd lesson of the month. Some good feedback has been received and everyone is enjoying it. Everyone in the class is mixing very well and their next Sisterhood Day is scheduled for February next year. Autumns Renata sent in a report about the Autumns which was read out by Lisa. Renata said that the group is going really well and getting along really well. Divas Divas have started off their year well - feeling positive and looking forward to the year ahead. Fees Discussion about YAAD fees. It was suggested that Rose Cottage offer a fortnightly payment plan, especially for those students that get paid fortnightly. 2010 novices Names being taken now for our Novice group for 2010. Inormation evening to be held in February 2010 with the commitment ceremony in mid-March. Lisa to start newspaper advertising in September 'Taking names now!!' Dates to rememberSaturday, 19 September 2009 Witches Kitchen. Commencing at 6 pm. Discussion about asking those attending to make a 'non-cash donation' to the Cottage (e.g. candles, incense, toilet paper, etc.) Wednesday, 30 September 2009 Next committee meeting. 12 pm. Saturday, 3 October 2009 Tania's pregnancy ritual. 2 pm. Rachae and Diana volunteered to assist Lisa. 9, 10, 11 October 2009 Cottage Art Exhibition. Renata organising. 17, 18 October, 1, 8, 15, 22 November 2009 Cottage rooms rented to John Overholt. Art exhibitionHeidi is looking into choosing a charity for our Art Exhibition to benefit. Due to her not attending this meeting, this item will need to be passed over until next meeting. HousekeepingDrinks Lisa suggested we start selling drinks from the fridge now the weather is warming up again. Discussion about ensuring patrons of the Cottage don't forget to pay. Consider asking group facilitators to oversee patrons paying for drinks from the fridge. Jenni to create signs for inside and outside the fridge that advertise the drinks for sale with a reminder of where topay. Lisa to purchase some cans of fizzy drink and bottles of water. Jenni suggested the purchase of a can dispenser or similar for the fridge. Rachael offered to clean out the fridge. Offer gratefully accepted. Cans of fizzy and bottles of water to be priced at $1 each. Possibly also purchase chocolates (fun size) to be for sale for 50c each. Stroud newsHelen has resigned from the Stroud Committe. It is decided not to replace her at this stage. The committee now consists of Jen, Deb, Wendy and Lisa. Wendy has launched the survey online (printed copies available at the Cottage) to gather feedback from participants of previous years. The survey is available here. Next Stroud Committee meeting after the feedback survey closes at the end of September. End of year2009 will culminate for the Cottage with Summer Solstice Celebrations on Saturday, 19 December 2009. Classes will resume in the week starting 11 January 2010. Discussion about Solstice party. Ritual to be held on the same night with the party afterwards. Lisa to advertise for elves. Discussion about 'performances' by groups. Decided that we would have an 'open mike' type situation. Those that would like to do some kind of performance (e.g. reading, poetry, song, movemenet, etc.) would be able to volunteer themselves. A Sisterhood Day in the new year would be an opportunity for each group to prepae some kind of 'entertainment' for their sister groups. Social calendarDiscussion about activities at the Cottage, both learning and social opportunities. It was mentioned that often things kind of 'fizzle out' with lots of enthusiasm early on but dwindling over time. Discussion about committing to an 'activity' for 6 months before dropping it due to lack of interest. Discussion about the Cottage calendar, and that sometimes dates have to be changed due to double-boking. Suggested that a page be added to the Cottage website with a comprehensive calendar of activities and bookings. Wendy suggested we email a table (calendar) with everything that is going onto our email list and Yahoo! board more regularly, and she offered to fill this role. Lisa to email Wendy and Todd when she books the Cottage so they can update the website and email calendar. Clean upWendy reported that she is sensing some unusual energies in the Cottage. It is in need of a good cleansing. Rooms need to be smudged, drummed, etc. Lisa said that over the end of year break the interior walls may get painted.
